Silver Mountain Ski Resort - Kellogg, Idaho
"Silver Mountain is actually two mountains: Kellogg Peak, to the east, with a summit of 6,297 feet (1,919 m) and the original Wardner Peak at 6,205 ft (1,891 m). The ski area has a vertical drop of 2,197 ft (670 m) on its north-facing slopes. The elevation at the bottom terminal of the gondola is slightly under 2,300 feet (700 m) and unloads at about 5,650 feet (1,720 m); the 3.1-mile (5.0 km) trip takes seventeen minutes, traveling south-southeast over Wardner." [4Feet]: Silver Mountain Ski Resort is a ski place like no other. The only way to reach the ski area is to take a gondola for a 3.1-mile trip with an elevation gain of 3,350 feet from the base village. Today had been a chilly but sunny day. The temperature was around 28*F throughout the day, yet the snow on the mountain was not as thick as we expected. A lot of trails, unfortunately, remained closed due to inadequate snow. However, as ski beginners, we only planned to stay on a low-risk flat trail; a couple of green runs were more than enough. 12/5/20
