About Us

"Some Mountains" is a collection of our journeys of backcountry hiking and exploring. We keep our memories in photos and share our feelings in words. From wading upstream to summiting volcanic peaks, we accept all kinds of challenges in the wilderness as we believe that it is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves. Rex, a former marathon runner, spent most of his time working in healthcare as a pharmacist. Soon after meeting Duong, he became a mountain enthusiast and a backpacker. Rex has low tolerance of hot environments, which makes him a big winter person. In summer, he tends to go either northerner or higher. By days, Duong is a top-notch engineer working in the software industry. When out of the office, she is a professional photographer capturing beautiful moments of each hike. She is detail-oriented, kindhearted, and so-called life insurance of Rex as she sometimes has to pull Rex back when he attempts risky outdoor activities.
